About Colleen Creates

My Story
Colleen Sully was born in Omaha, NE, and has been an artist since she was a child. She excelled in all school projects that required an element of creativity. Colleen has brought her creativity and loads of art materials to Chicago, where she now resides.
Her professional art career didn't come into fruition until her third year at university. Colleen was exploring different job opportunities at a career fair when she stumbled upon a table for Artworks Cincinnati. This nonprofit organization in Cincinnati, OH, was recruiting artists to apply for a mural apprenticeship. Colleen applied and received two apprenticeships through the summer and fall of 2023.
During these apprenticeships, she was introduced to the idea of using her artistic abilities in a professional manner. Entering into the 2023 school year, Colleen added a studio art minor and took as many art classes as her schedule allowed. She explored every medium she could in the short amount of time she had left before graduation. She graduated from Xavier University in May 2024 with a B.A. in Advertising and a minor in studio art.
Colleen created her social media presence as an artist when she started her art minor in the fall of 2023. She has been documenting her work and her life as an artist on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. She hopes to inspire other people to use their creative gifts and to never shy away from trying new things. Colleen believes that everyone has creativity embedded in their beings.
God is the greatest creator and made us in his image and likeness - therefore, he gifted us all with our own creative abilities. It is our gift back to Him to use the creativity and love He instilled in each of us.
Colleen has dabbled in dozens of artistic mediums. She has successfully increased sales at local art fairs in Omaha through the sale of handmade jewelry and original linocut clothing. She looks forward to the Christmas season because people are looking to gift their loved ones with personal paintings. She has sold several commissioned pieces and is always ready to take on new ideas her clients come to her with.
Colleen creates anything and everything. She will continue to use her gifts forever.
